Description

This classic Negroamaro del Salento IGT from Villa Mottura is a pure expression of one of Puglia’s most emblematic native grape varieties. Produced in the heart of the Salento peninsula, where warm Mediterranean conditions and limestone-rich soils favour full ripeness, the wine reflects Mottura’s long-standing commitment to showcasing the character and heritage of southern Italian viticulture.

Tasting Notes:
Deep ruby red in colour, the nose is expressive and inviting, with aromas of ripe red berries, black cherry and subtle hints of pepper, tobacco and walnut. On the palate it is dry, full-bodied and velvety, with well-integrated tannins and a balanced structure. The finish is smooth and persistent, carrying gentle spice and savoury nuances.

Winemaking:
Made from 100% Negroamaro, the grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve both fruit intensity and natural balance. Fermentation takes place under controlled temperatures in stainless steel to retain varietal purity, followed by a short period of maturation to refine texture and enhance aromatic complexity, while maintaining freshness and approachability.

Food Pairing:
An excellent partner for grilled meats, slow-cooked stews, aubergine and tomato-based dishes, or mature cheeses. Its savoury character also works beautifully with traditional Italian pasta dishes and roasted vegetables.

ABV: 13%
