Lanzerac Reserve is a classic Stellenbosch red blend composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Petit Verdot. The grapes are sourced from carefully selected vineyards in the Jonkershoek Valley, with hand harvesting and pruning ensuring only healthy fruit is used.
Tasting Notes:
A well-balanced and expressive blend, showing depth and structure typical of Stellenbosch reds. Cabernet Sauvignon provides backbone, Shiraz adds richness and spice, and Petit Verdot enhances colour and aromatic intensity.
Winemaking:
Each varietal is vinified separately before blending, allowing precise control over structure and balance. Selective harvesting and careful cellar practices maintain the wine’s consistency and quality.
Food Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, slow-cooked stews, hearty pasta dishes, and mature cheeses.
ABV: 14%
Estate:
Lanzerac Wine Estate, established in 1692, is one of South Africa’s most historic wine estates and is famously recognised as the home of the first bottled Pinotage. Situated at the foot of the Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch, the estate combines long-standing heritage with modern vineyard redevelopment. Under Cellar Master Wynand Lategan, who has overseen the Lanzerac range since 2005, continued vineyard renewal has focused on improving fruit quality and long-term sustainability.
